PAGASA Philippines Lending Company Inc. (PPLCI) seeks to pursue its mission to provide micro credit services to its members. It aims to empower the enterprising poor by helping them access credit for their income generating activity, helping increase family income that will eventually improve the economic conditions of their families and finally become social investors in community development. PPLCI also aims to create employment for the community and/or locality supporting the micro projects to the members and job placement in the company.
PAGASA Philippines Lending Company Inc. (PPLCI) is duly registered company with Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and serving a low-income or economically poor Filipinos through microfinance program which is provision of affordable credit and replicating the very well known ASA Methodology. The company was registered in 2007 and started its operations in Metro Manila and gradually expanded its operation in nearby provinces and later opened more branches in Luzon as well as in Mindanao. The company is directly affiliated with ASA International.
WAY FORWARD
Five years from now, PAGASA Philippines shall establish itself as a center of excellence in the Philippine microfinance industry covering all the regions. To this end, PAGASA Philippines aims to establish more than 350 branches servicing half a million poor Filipino families within the next five years.
Financial Services
The loan program aims to improve the personal and social value of the clients in the family and in the community by involving themselves in income generating activities through the process of providing micro-credit loans for additional capital, reduce poverty through job creation in poor communities, help low-income people to overcome the dependency on money lenders (5/6 or Bombays) and eventually develop capabilities and economic independence of borrowers.
Loan Products – PPLCI currently offers three (3) credit programs; Small General Loan, Small Business Loan and Small Entrepreneurship Loan. All loans have 15% interest and are payable for twenty-three (23) weeks or six (6) months. Loanable amount is based on the borrower’s capacity to pay. Loans are offered to individuals but borrowers are encouraged to be part of a locally-organized groups to avail of the loan products.
Loan Collateral Build-Up (LCBU) – Members are encouraged to deposit their weekly LCBU of P20-P100. This serves as a non-interest bearing collateral to the loans availed by the clients as well as an alternative capital and investment when client decides to withdraw from the loan program. During the loan term, borrowers can withdraw from their LCBU during group meetings provided that they maintain LCBU balance of at least 10% of the loaned amount.

We provide training to other MFIs on staff enhancement and development, effective microfinance operations, as well as propagating the ASA Methodology.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programs
The “One Scholar per Branch” program aims to provide financial assistance to 100 children of active borrowers who are in their last year of college (4 or 5 year program) or diploma (2-year program) course.
We provide assistance to members who have been affected by natural calamities or disasters. Moratorium in loan payments is also implemented to help clients recover their livelihood faster.
